Anchorage, AK: The LaFrance for Mayor Campaign is thrilled to announce the endorsement of Suzanne LaFrance by Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates, ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 PAC, and The Alaska Center.
Suzanne LaFrance has shown an unwavering dedication to ensuring that Anchorage remains a beacon of inclusivity, equality, and access to essential healthcare services. As a champion for reproductive rights, LaFrance stands firmly in defense of Alaska's constitutionally protected rights, including the right to choose. Her commitment to these values has earned her the enthusiastic endorsement of Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates.
"We are thrilled to endorse Suzanne LaFrance for Anchorage Mayor," stated Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates. "We're tired of Anchorage being led by individuals who show little interest in common-sense approaches to sex education, support for the LGBTQ+ community, and protecting constitutionally guaranteed rights like abortion. Suzanne LaFrance is the leader we need in this moment and beyond," Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates stated in their social media announcement of the endorsement.
In addition to Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates, Suzanne LaFrance's campaign received a resounding endorsement from The Alaska Center, an organization dedicated to advancing clean air and water, healthy communities, and a strong democracy. Jenny-Marie Stryker, Political Director of The Alaska Center, expressed their support, stating, "Anchorage desperately needs a Mayor who will fight for our city and focus on creating a thriving, just, and sustainable Anchorage, and Suzanne LaFrance is the right person for the job. She has immense local knowledge and experience and is a proven leader for Anchorage. It's time to get competent, honest, and reliable leadership back in the Mayor's office."
Furthermore, the ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 PAC also voiced their support for Suzanne LaFrance, with Heidi Drygas, executive director of the organization, sharing her endorsement on social media: "Proud to support Suzanne LaFrance for Mayor! She has the knowledge, experience, temperament, and sound judgment to get Anchorage back on track. And ALL of Alaska needs THAT!"
Suzanne LaFrance's campaign is gathering momentum as she continues to earn the trust and support of organizations and individuals who are passionate about Anchorage's future.
Since filing to run for mayor in May, Suzanne LaFrance has received support from more than 500 unique donors. The mayoral election will be held on April 2, 2024.
