Suzanne LaFrance for Mayor

Anchorage, AK: Mayoral candidate Bill Popp has endorsed Suzanne LaFrance in the Anchorage Mayor’s race.

“I am honored to have Bill’s endorsement,” said Suzanne LaFrance. “Bill ran a strong campaign focused on the many issues Anchorage is facing. I’m grateful for his support and motivated by his vision for where we can go in the future.”

“My candidacy for Mayor was focused on putting what’s best for Anchorage front and center,” said Bill Popp. “As our new Mayor, Suzanne will ensure our government effectively addresses the issues our city faces today, while setting in motion long-term strategies to revitalize Anchorage.”

Popp, former President & CEO of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, finished third in the April 2 regular election with nearly 17 percent of the vote. His endorsement comes as LaFrance leads in the regular election results and is headed to a runoff with incumbent Dave Bronson.

“Bill and I share a deep concern about the direction of our community these past few years, along with a focus on nonpartisan problem-solving to get Anchorage moving forward,” said LaFrance.

“To me, this announcement is all about setting aside division and working together to do what’s best for the people of Anchorage. That’s my commitment. I want to thank Bill for his leadership and for modeling that same commitment to our community.”
