Suzanne LaFrance for Mayor
Anchorage, AK: Preliminary election results show that Suzanne LaFrance is well positioned to defeat Dave Bronson in a runoff election.
The overwhelming majority of voters rejected a Bronson second term, giving Bronson the weakest general election performance of any incumbent mayor in the last two decades:
In 2018, Ethan Berkowitz won with 55.44% of the vote.
In 2012, Dan Sullivan won with 58.68% of the vote.
In 2006, Mark Begich won with 55.95% of the vote.
“Anchorage voters are ready for a Mayor that will take ownership over solving problems rather than blame others, and bring people together to get the job done,” said Suzanne LaFrance. “I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received from business owners, labor unions, police and firefighters, snow plow operators, and individuals from across the political spectrum. I know what it’s going to take to get Anchorage moving forward again, and I’m ready to get to work.”
